There are so many cute animals out there, but there's nothing cuter than an elderly dog defeating all of the odds. Dogs are normally expected to live between 10 and 13 years, but when this photo was taken, Proton was celebrating her sweet sixteen! Sure, she might have a salt and pepper beard and she might be a little slow on her feet, but that wasn't going to stop her from getting in the party spirit.

Losing a dog is any animal lover's nightmare, so we bet Proton's owner is over the moon to have had their beloved dog for 16 years. And here's to many more, Proton!
