Frank Lee Morris and John and Clarance Anglin were neither ever heard from again at this point. They were never heard from again until now. Most likely, that specific evening at about 11:30 p.m., they started their trip into the water. After learning the decoys had been placed in their natural habitat the previous evening, alarms went out all around the island the following morning.

The other convicts could not understand the fact that three of them had just lately escaped from "The Rock". Nobody knew if the three (3) persons had drowned in the sea or whether they had survived out of the sea. This had never happened before. This was unheard of in past times.
