Frank Lee Morris and the Anglin siblings ascended to the top of the jail house rather easily. The excitement must have started to run wild at this point when they arrived at the summit—an amazing 100 feet above ground. If they had perished at this moment in time, it would have been a waste of time since they were truly committed to keep on going.

They began their descent steadily even though they were on the other side of the piping—that is, outside the building. They landed close to the shower blocks to evade being contacted by the security staff. Once they got at the shore, they would have to pause to pump up their raft.
